Introduction to Cyber Essentials
February 26, 2025 @ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM GMT
Slides from the event:
Supported by Stronger Kent Communities (SKC), KMCC will deliver a FREE online webinar on “Introduction to Cyber Essentials” for all organisations and individuals interested in strengthening their cyber security. This session will help participants understand the fundamentals of cyber security and the Cyber Essentials certification.

Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme that helps keep organisations and their customers’ data safe from cyber attacks. It is managed by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC, part of GCHQ), and delivered by NCSC’s official partner IASME, its nationwide network of assessors and advisors. It can provide the minimum standard of cyber security for all organisations, including large ones and SMEs.
The webinar will explain why Cyber Essentials is important, what its benefits are and how it can be implemented, focusing on your team and organisation rather than the technology. Speakers will include a cyber security consultant who has helped small organisations implement Cyber Essentials successfully, and a representative of an organisation which has achieved it, to describe their thinking and experience. The webinar will also see a short introduction to KMCC (Kent & Medway Cyber Cluster Ltd) and ECRC (Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre), two local/regional cyber security community building bodies and co-organise of the event together with the SKC (Stronger Kent Communities). There will be plenty of opportunity for questions to the speakers.
